00031 New Strike 2, Yummy

New Strike 2, Yummy
New Strike 2, Yummy,
originally uploaded by Lenny & Meriel.
Jonah (who is fast becomming a good photographer) took this of me unfurling my newly aquired Flexifoil Strike 2. This is the 11m - the other one is 15m and consequently very scary.
May god have mercy upon my soul.

00030 Mmmmmmmmm

originally uploaded by multi cheery o.
Hello to all you boys at I'm not addicted to burgers.
I do hope that nothing aweful happens to you, although I suspect that it will.

00029 We've got the DG's

In case you didn't know you have to see the Dave Gorman Googlewhack Adventure - just in case you didn't know.
Oh, and it was Meriel's Birthday today, she got plant books, a hip flask for her Kayaking Brandy and Barbecue tools in an aluminuim flight case (naturally). She was most pleased to say the least (well, wouldn't you be?).

00028 Outrageous!

Even more excited about the order I placed with Trick of the Eye for two Flexifoil Strike 2s (in Rasta colours - hey, I didn't have much to work with, OK?).
One's 11 meter and the other is 15 meter.
Have I lost my mind. Find out next week (or possibly sooner).

00027 Flickr KAP

Quite excited about the proposition I put forward on Chris Benton's KAP discussion forum. Why not have a photo forum for KAP? It's genius, surely. It all begins at the new KAP group page.

Hey, have I ever been wrong?

well i guess there was that one time when i ate that thing that i thought was chocolate, but it turned out to be a ...

00026 Go on, poke it

originally uploaded by O Slam!.
I'm now seriously tempted to take and post pictures to the "poke it with a stick" group.
Or consider professional care.
It's a toss up.

00025 Some light relief

originally uploaded by Lenny & Meriel.
So to pull myself back from the brink of kitesurf tunnelvision (which is apparently permanent if the wind changes) I've uploaded all of our panoramic photos to Flickr. Particular favourites are lots of Meriels in Herm (not strictly a pano) along with the natty "Over the top forest pano" (in what was a fairly bog standard forest)

00024 Strike 2 (one more and I'm out)

originally uploaded by Lenny & Meriel.
Aaaaaaaaah, I now think only of kitesurfing, which means that I have no need for the other trappings of life with which I previously thought I would garnish the pages of this Blog.
In addition, the Matrix with which I was ready to fall in love looks like it may be superceeded by this little number (in, I might point out, a redgoldgreen Rasta stylee colour scheme). May the Gods forgive me I will return to things trivial soon.
By the way, she's a Flexifoil Strike2.

00023 T minus four days

I'm hoping to be placing an order for BIG kites maybe as soon as this Monday. Pray for me.

00022 253

I now rue the day I used numerical prefixes for the titles of each blog post - I mean, just look at this one.
Anyway the site is called "253" and although I've not gone through tea site with a fine toothcomb, the book is excellent toilet reading material (depending on the regularity and length of your movements)

00021 Coincidental names

Danny Baker again, this time with the list of people whose names are coincidental with their addresses:
Gary of Grays
Gordon of Khartom Villas
Mr. & Mrs. Dyer of Coffin Avenue
Mrs. Gotobed of Little Snoring
Mrs. Bird of Woodpecker Road
Mr. & Mrs. Groom of The Paddocks, Blackhorse Lane
Mr. Scratchy of Itchington near Bath
Mr. Deadman of Gravesend
Otis Lifts of Reading
Mr. Hedge of Firtree Avenue
Mrs. Tomb of Little Egypt
Mr. Blowers and his cat Tumble of Dryer Lane
Mr. Bunny of Warren Lane
Ms. Byrd moved from Emu Road to Turkey Street and on to Duck's Walk
Karen Milton of Milton Cottages, Milton Road
Mr. George Lane, who visits a bookshop in George Lane
Mr. Martin Hampshire of Martin, Hampshire

I'd say that he's so good it hurts, but it doesn't and, frankly, I don't see how it could.

00020 Low flyer

originally uploaded by Lenny & Meriel.
Not too easy to get much air with 2 stacked Flexis and mediochre wind. I do all my own stunts, you know.

00019 Fixed gear fashion

Not that I want to boast about a fashion that I preempted by a decade or so, but it seems that fixed gear bikes are taking off (no, not like that)

00018 Shirtorama

originally uploaded by Lenny & Meriel.
Just took possession of these four t-shirt designs - aaah internet shopping. My only concern is that I do so much shopping sitting on my arse that I'll get so fat the stuff won't fit me when it arrives.
If you haven't already, go to Threadless and get some.

00017 Neat things

We came across a couple of sites worth a visit:

Check out the popularity of baby names over the last 100 years if you're stuck for ideas - you're going to need a baby for this one.

Make magazine - I can't remember how we heard about this one, but the magazine is excellent and the ideas on the blog are worth browsing.

Imagine my surprise when I found this.
You don't have to imagine too hard, as I can reveal that I wasn't very surprised.

This week I will mostly be lying awake at night thinking endlessly of this, such is the size to which my world has shrunk (and such is my need to begin a quest for that thing you earthlings call a life).

The end is surely in sight.

00013 Kites part two

originally uploaded by Lenny & Meriel.

Home made kites - I'm still not too sure if it's better to make or buy. It's alotta work, but the results have been consistently pleasing (with the odd exception where fabric colour has been a bit of an issue).

Here are some more

Just waiting for the resolve to dry up and that should be it ...
